Renown English Country Garden
In a pink-tinted tall glass vase, this renown "English
Country Garden" styling of floral design provides a plethora of pinks for a young lady. Nodding
branches of leptospermum and budding peach stems frame the array of vivid purple
hyacinth and purple-streaked lysiathis, soft pink sweethearts and more boldly
pink florabundas, dark purple-red ranunculus, several off-white cybidium orchid
blossoms, and unopened white lysianthis buds for visual hieght, assisted by
sword fern and boxwood. $75. Most "English Country Garden" designs, created in glass vases (so water levels can be seen and maintained),
convey the informal yet disciplined appearance of a well-manicured country
garden.
Prices: $60, $75, $95 and up. |

Fruit Basket
Each fruit basket is custom created. This one is all fruit, topped by a pineapple
and includes several apples, pears,
oranges and plums with a banana. Many fruit baskets contain chocolates (boxed, or individual
candy bars) or cookies. Some are "snack
packs" popular with the college crew. A teddy bear, or other "plush" animal, can be added, usually an additional $25 or more. No liquor is permitted
to be sent locally; some regions nationwide permit wine or liquor to be
delivered.
Minimum for a fruit basket is $75 plus delivery.
Chocolates or candy, add $20+.
Prices: $75, $95, $125 and up. |
 |
Custom Design
Created for a desktop in a ceramic black rectangular vase, this design highlights
three orange-pastel calla lilies surrounded by two "chocolate" artichokes,
several vivid gerbera daisies, a clump of orange sweetheart roses, two
bold yellow ranunculus, a small cluster of light tan hypericum berries,
and all dramatized by the crisp Italian ruscus.
Prices: $50, $65, $80 and up. |
 |
Green 'Office' Plant
This "spath" or Peace Lily is of sufficient
size to command a space on the floor, $75 and up. Other popular varieties are
the several draceaenas, the ficus (which drops its leaves for new ones to accommodate
a new location), or the schefflera -- all require some sun and weekly watering.
Florists only provide the plant (and basket); weekly plant care services are
usually separately contracted.
Prices: $50, $65, $80 and up. |
 |
Blooming Indoor Plant
Seasonally, unusual blooming plants (gloxinea, hydrangea, etc.) often supplement
the always-available "peace
lily" spathiphyllum, azalea plants and dish gardens (a blooming violet and several
small green plants); $40 minimum. Fresh orchid plants (usually the vivid
phaleonopsis) come directly from a local grower; $60 minimum. And most
often, small annuals like primrose or calla lily plants become available
seasonally; $40 minimum for deliveries.
Prices: $50, $60, $75 and up. |
 |
Sympathy Wreath
Each wreath is custom designed. This one was deliberately made up of only orchids
-- purple, green and white cymbidiums, orange and yellow mokaras, white
and purple dendrobians -- surrounded with croton leaves on a boxwood base,
$140. Most wreaths, beginning at $120, are supported on a wire easel to
allow placement graveside. Lettered banners add $10.
Prices: $120, 150, 220 and up. |
 |
Dozen Roses
The most popular purchase (especially by men unfamiliar with flowers) is a
dozen roses. Our dozen long-stem premier-quality roses, $65 for the past
six years, include a clear glass vase, greens and (When appropriate) other filler flowers, such as the purple waxflower shown here added as background for the vibrant yet smaller-headed Eskimo white roses. Always, more than 20 varieties of roses at different colors
and sizes are available in the shop's cooler. Higher price levels assure use of finer grade accompanying flowers.
Prices: $65, $75, $95 and up. |
 |
Sympathy Basket
Traditionally in many areas, sympathy baskets (or pressed-paper mache baskets)
form a floral grouping around or beside a casket viewing at a mortuary.
Inevitably, comparisons by size occur, so the floral composition reflects
a three-sided wide design often using a "fan" of
gladiolas or tall flowers like delphinium. This $125 design provides an array of popular stargazer lilies, the tall larkspur, lavender stock, and other pink flowers.
Prices: $75, $95, $125 and up. |
 |
Monothematic Specialty
These seasonal, bright sunflowers
in a clear glass bowl illustrate the principle attraction of a monothematic
presentation -- a bold swath of color. Similar arrangements, of Stargazer lilies
or hydrangea or gerbera daisies or whatever, remain a most popular form of
floral designs.
Prices: $60, $75, $85 and up. |
 |
Wire Baby Carriage
This smaller mostly pink (for a girl) wire baby carriage lined with moss includes
a stargazer, sweet william, pink waxflowers and white hydrangea, $55. The
larger wire baby carriages (which provide a lasting memory gift after the
flowers are done), $65 and up, display roses and other broader flowers
dramatically.
Prices: $60, $75, $90 and up. |
 |
Basket Centerpiece
Basket arrangements are especially welcomed to provide a cheerful country-like
atmosphere to a party as a table centerpiece. This one highlights gerbera
daisies, purple matsumoto daisies, yellow ranunculus, light pink sweetheart
roses, orange "dona" dianthus,
several viburnum clumps, and dressed by variagated pittospirum.
Prices: $65, $80, $95 and up. |
 |
French Wink
This "signature" design is characterized
by a small container (either ceramic or glass) with just blossom and bud tips
packed together, usually around a gorgeous rose (crème and pink tipped, in
the picture). This version includes beige hypericum berries, bouvardia tips,
red mini-dianthis blossoms and clumps of eucalyptus berries bedded on small
feathery greens of dianthis. $50 and up.
Prices: $55, $65, $80 and up. |
